Above is the question posed by my master's thesis, "Interpreting Global Sustainability in National Parks," as approved and filed with UC Berkeley's Graduate Division in December of 2004 to fulfill the thesis requirement for an MS in Environmental Science, Policy and Management. About 100 staff from the NPS and its partners responded to my email survey, and 17 provided face-to-face interviews.

What do people learn about global sustainability in our national parks?
